Uke build 0.3 - Tools: Care package from Freeman

UPS stopped by Casa de Melandy yesterday. A care package from Freeman had arrived with a tool loan. Freeman is the infamous FK from HCAG.

He has been following my uke build progress and offering advice along the way. A lot of my questions were around the inlay for the headstock, binding, and finish.

I was in a bit of a quandary about the inlay. I had some tools that might work, but that weren't really made for that kind of detail work. Freeman's care pack included tools with which to do the inlay properly. Note: Freeman included the tools to do this, but I didn't see any skill or talent in the box. Maybe it leaked out the corners. ;)

In addition to the tools, he included some supplies, namely pore filler and some plastic binding. Especially a good thing for the binding; while the box was in transit, I managed to mangle the rosewood binding I had planned on using. I'm still going to do some cuts on some practice wood first to make sure this is going to fly, but it's great to have a plan B.

Thanks Freeman!
