Uke update: 7.0: pore fill

The uke is out of the clamps and (mostly) in one piece now.

I did the pore fill last night (supplies courtesy of Freeman), which gave the mahogany a nice deep color. Unfortunately I didn't get all the excess wiped off as well as I would have liked, so I ended up doing some sanding to get a more even appearance.

I sanded to 400 and the result is pretty nice. Sort of a high contrast light/dark grain pattern. The overall impression is darker than the bare wood was, and lighter than before I sanded off the excess pore filler. There are still some spots that soaked up the pore filler aggressively that wound up darker than the rest. Ah, well... wabi sabi.

I think I'll skip staining the body and neck and keep it the color it is now.
