Saddle fitting this evening.
The bone saddle starts off a little thicker and a lot longer than needed. To start, I sanded some of the thickness off until the saddle starts to fit in the slot.
Once that was done, I rounded over one of the ends and cut it to length, with about 1/8 extra to be safe. Then I rounded the other end. The saddle was still a bit too long, as expected. I sanded the extra off, and then attempted to install in the slot.
Still a bit too thick, so more sanding. I got a little sloppy in how I was holding the saddle at this point, and sanded a hole in my thumb. Applied duct tape to thumb, and continued sanding.
Once the saddle would just fit in the slot, I called it a night. I'll save contouring the top of the saddle for another day.
