000 guitar build - spray stand

I made a spray stand that sticks out from the workbench. Two actually... One for the body and one for the neck.

It's fairly simple. A 1" dowel rid sits inside of a piece of PVC pipe. The pipe is clamped across one of the corners of the workbench and sticks out a few inches at each end.

At the front end, a corner brace is attached to the dowel using a couple of clevis pins and a hose clamp to keep thing nice and snug. The corner brace is bolted to either the neck or the body using the bolt-on neck joint.

At the other end of the dowel, another clamp tightens it down to the workbench to keep it from spinning when there is a load on it.

Finally there is a set of locking pliers attached to the end of the dowel to act as a handle to make it easier to rotate the work piece.
